COSORI Smart Nutrition Scale review: The future of nutrition?
COSORI Intelligent Nutrition Scale: Two Minute Review
New in the world of health and fitness technology for 2025 is the alluring COSORI Smart Nutrition Scale. In fact, I first encountered it on TikTok where I saw a few viral posts about it, and now COSORI has officially launched its smart kitchen scale in the UK. See the Pricing and Availability section for full details.
As a fitness enthusiast who is interested in food and nutrition, but as someone who often struggles with tracking food and counting calories, COSORI seemed like a perfect fit for me, and after my first try on the scale, I have to say I really Loved it. Very impressed. It’s not perfect, and there are a few glaring flaws with the method that I’ll point out, but it’s a nifty little kitchen gadget that will catch your guests’ eyes and is a great treat for fitness enthusiasts for under £50 /A great gift for $50. your life.
Right out of the box, the 6he COSORI feels premium and well-made, which is what you’d expect from a scale that costs nearly $50. The plastic base holds three AAA batteries, and the platform is made of food-grade 304 stainless steel for easy cleaning. The size is quite large, much larger than my bog standard kitchen scale so it feels more useful without being bulky.
The COSORI smart kitchen scale is designed to give you accurate information about the food you eat, displaying the exact amount of micronutrients such as calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates and fiber based on your weight. Of course, it requires a companion app where you can access a food database, scan barcodes (or search for foods).
The scale arrived ready to use, including a QR code for the VeSync app, and I’d say installation, registration and pairing all took less than a minute. The process of setting up the scale was very simple and straightforward with almost no issues. So far, so good.
The COSORI Smart Kitchen Scale is so easy to use that its features require almost no explanation. VeSync app, with apple Health and Fitbitincluding a daily food tracking platform. You enter your target calories and desired amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and fat breakdown, the three “macronutrients” critical for a balanced diet, weight loss, or muscle building.
Once your numbers are locked in, you can log your food just like you would in an app like MyFitnessPal. The most convenient method is to scan the barcode. The process is very fast, but has one obvious flaw. Food data comes from Nutritionix, a company with nearly a million food items. However, if your food is not listed, you will need to enter the details manually or select a substitution.
I did a quick check of the fridge and was surprised to find that eggs and Greek yoghurt from a British family supermarket were missing. However, eggs from another big supermarket did well, as did some frozen berries in my freezer and the mainstay of fitness: Pringles. When it comes to which foods to support, your mileage will definitely vary and may even depend on where you live and shop.
Manually entering information isn’t the end of the world, but it can certainly be frustrating when a barcode scanner doesn’t output results.
Once you have successfully identified your food, you simply place it on the scale and COSORI will automatically weigh it and provide you with detailed information on all the nutrients in the food. Once you’re happy with the amount, just click “Save and Add More.” Congratulations, you have successfully recorded the accurate weight and calorie breakdown of the food you are about to eat.
In principle, you can use the COSORI smart kitchen scale to track your food intake throughout the day, with calorie tracking accurate to the nearest gram.
So who will benefit? While the COSORI can be used to simply weigh objects, purchasing a scale purely for weighing costs a lot of money. COSORI really needs to reach its full potential to justify the expenditure. I would say that fitness enthusiasts, bodybuilders, and anyone trying to establish eating habits to supplement their fitness regimen will absolutely love COSORI.
It’s especially suitable for those who like to try new foods, mix recipes, and experiment. By contrast, if you prepared a seven-day supply of boiled chicken, rice, and broccoli every Sunday afternoon, you’d probably be better off.
COSORI is particularly helpful in giving you insight into calories and ingredients that don’t have an obvious calorie component, like a spoonful of peanut butter. For example, I distinctly remember one TikTok user being mortified by how many calories there were in a rather small serving of peanut butter. If you’re interested in diet, calories, and portion sizes, COSORI can transform you from portion size lover to cooking rain man.
While you could theoretically use COSORI with a tool like MyFitnessPal to track your food, you’d lose the fast, automatic tracking and instant results that make COSORI such an attractive package. So anyone who’s already invested heavily in a different food or fitness app may not want to make the switch. The COSORI app even offers recipes, including ones you can use with best air fryer (Coincidentally, some of these are also made by COSORI).
