Women’s FA Cup holders Man Utd to visit third-tier Wolves in fifth round

Third-tier side Wolves host Manchester United, the reigning Women’s FA Cup champions, in the fifth round of the 2024-25 season.

Wolves, who are second in the Women’s National League Northern Premier League, have a full-time coach and staff but mainly part-time players.

Manchester United, who Defeated Tottenham Hotspur to win the Cup for the first time last season. West Brom, an amateur team ranked eighth in the division, beat amateur side West Brom 7-0 in the fourth round on Saturday.

Rugby Borough, the lowest-placed side, have secured a place in the fifth round and will also host a Women’s Super League side after beating London Bees 6-0.

Borough County, currently fourth in the WNL North Division, will host either West Ham United or Liverpool, one of seven games postponed due to bad weather over the weekend.

West Ham United and Liverpool will play on January 29 at 19:45 GMT.

The fifth round will take place over the weekend of February 8-9.

WSL champions and current leaders Chelsea will host Everton or Tottenham in the only guaranteed top-flight game.

Manchester City, currently second in the WSL, will host Leicester City in the First Division or Stoke City in the Third Division at home.

Arsenal are the most successful team in Women’s FA Cup history with 14 wins and will host Bristol City if they beat another second-tier side in the rearranged game at Meadow Park Championship team London City Lions.
