Dundee United, three points behind bottom-placed Queen’s Park, suffered greater pain as they suffered a 6-1 defeat at home to Motherwell.
Doubles from forward Laura Berry and defender Chelsea Watson gave Motherwell a four-point lead at the break.
Forward Freya Brien put United on target with a fine strike from the kick-off, but Berry completed her hat-trick before midfielder Sophie Black scored Motherwell’s sixth goal.
