Moyes in talks with Everton over return to club
David Moyes is in talks with Everton over a possible return to Goodison Park following Sean Dyche’s sacking.
While the deal is yet to be completed and Moyes is not the only candidate, BBC Sport understands from a source that the Scot is the frontrunner.
Contract negotiations will continue on Friday.
Former Burnley boss Dyche was sacked on Thursday, with the club in 16th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.
They have won just three of 19 league games this season.
Moyes, who coached Everton from 2002 to 2013, recently said he was not ready to retire from football management but did not want to be involved in a “relegation” job.
He guided West Ham to the Europa League in 2023 but has been out of work since leaving the team last season.
