Aqara’s Little Do-It-All Dial Was One of the Most Interesting Home Products at CES 2025
Akara enters CES 2025 with a lot of New smart home devices Specializing in creating unique connected controls for every kind of home technology, no matter who you get it from. That includes one of the most unique home gadgets we spotted at CES this year, the Touchscreen Dial V1, a multi-function knob that can help with all kinds of smart home stuff. It’s not quite a smart thermostat, and it’s not quite a light knob, but a universal controller, a kind of home hub that can be connected to all kinds of things.
If you have seen Nest Thermostat Touchscreen/Dial Comboyou can see that the touchscreen dial works similarly, except it’s not a thermostat and doesn’t have the heating/cooling controls connected to the thermostat. Instead, it’s housed in a regular light switch and is much smaller than a thermostat.
The haptic feedback dial is a clever way to control connected smart lighting, dimming or changing color temperature with a touch, but you can also move it to adjust connected smart curtains or shades, or increase the temperature wirelessly. Connect the thermostat. This is just the tip of the comprehensive iceberg.
The dial is equipped with temperature and humidity sensors so you can measure the comfort level of a room, as well as a proximity sensor so it only lights up and displays information when someone is approaching. Additionally, you can program it using the following command family routine Changes such as morning or evening can be achieved by simply touching the 1.32-inch touch screen of the dial. Even if you’re not interested in day-to-day tasks, you can control the lights or shades of your choice with a swipe of the touchscreen.
Once installed, you can add accessories via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth from multiple platforms, including Google Home, Apple Home and Amazon Alexa. When you’re not using a watch face, you can choose faces like a clock or temperature reader to quickly get information as you pass by.
If buyers want something bigger, they can also wait for the S1 Plus all-in-one control panel, which takes up more space but has a larger touchscreen that can Show camera viewallowing for two-way audio and other tricks. But we love the simplicity and unique style of the touchscreen dial, and can’t wait to try it out with some of our other home tech.
