Airlines cancel more than 2,000 U.S. flights amid storm, Delta slide-evacuation at Atlanta Global | News Avenue

Airlines canceled more than 2,000 flights on Friday and another 2,000 were delayed as a massive winter storm disrupted travel across the southern United States.

The airport has ground bays where flights to the airport can be stopped at their point of origin so that the facility is not overcrowded with aircraft.

Most flights at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport were canceled Thursday as a storm dumped heavy snow in the area.
