MMA: PFL to permit elbows in all fights in 2025
The PFL has officially legalized elbow strikes in boxing, having previously banned the technique.
The MMA promotion operates a league system in the United States and Europe, which means the best fighters can compete up to four times a year.
This technique was banned as the elbow increased the chance of a boxer getting cut.
But after allowing elbow strikes in the 2024 PFL finals last November, chairman Donn Davis announced strikes would now become a permanent fixture of the PFL.
“New year, new adjustments,” Davis said on X .
“You ask for elbows, (the PFL) is giving you elbows. All the elbows. All the fights. All the time.”
