Tom McKibbin: NI player set for shock LIV Golf switch with Jon Rahm

Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin is set to make a surprise move to Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf side on a lucrative multi-year contract.

McKibbin earned a PGA Tour card in November after finishing among the top 10 uncarded players at the DP World Tour Battle of Dubai.

However, the 22-year-old will give up the PGA Tour to earn a final spot on Rahm’s Legion XIII team.

He will join Lahm, England’s Tyrell Hatton and American Caleb Surratt in a four-man lineup.

McKibbin will become the second Northern Ireland player to switch to LIV Golf, following 2010 US Open champion Graeme McDowell, who joins the Saudi Arabia-backed tour in 2022.

The LIV golf season kicks off on February 6th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

McKibbin will compete in the Team Cup event in Dubai this week and will compete in the Dubai Desert Classic next week.
