BetMcLean Cup: Ballymena-Glentoran quarter-final moved to Oval
Tuesday’s BetMcLean Cup quarter-final due to be played between Ballymena United and Glentoran has been moved from Ballymena Showground Showgrounds) moved to the Oval.
The decision was made to move the game after heavy snowfall in the Ballymena area made it impossible to play at Woden Street on Tuesday morning.
The match will start at 19:45 GMT.
The quarter-finals were originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 17, but were canceled due to waterlogging on the playing surface at the Showgrounds.
NIFL League Cup competition rules state, “If a match is postponed twice at the registered venue of the club first drawn, the NIFL League Cup Committee reserves the right to switch the match to the opponent’s registered venue on a date to be determined by the NIFL Committee.”
The winner of the tie will face the Crusaders in the semi-finals.
Larne will face Cliftonville in the semi-final on Tuesday, January 14 at Inver Park.
The Crusaders will play Larne in a rescheduled Irish Premier League match on Tuesday evening, January 7 (19:45 GMT).
