Social service agencies established in Habero subdivision have reportedly significantly improved the quality of life of residents.

Mr Fitwi Gebremeskel, Habero Divisional Administrator, said the village reorganization plan has given more residents access to basic services, including health care, education, drinking water and mobile phone services.

Mr Fitwi reported that 9 of the 11 wards in the division now have access to potable water and efforts are being made to extend the service to the remaining areas. The subdivision’s educational facilities include 36 schools from pre-school to high school, with active literacy programs underway.

In terms of medical and health care, the jurisdiction has 1 health center and 3 health stations to provide services to the people.

Looking ahead, Mr Fitwi stressed that key plans for 2025 will include soil and water conservation, improved water management and income generation initiatives.
