Kieran Tierney: Celtic in pre-contract talks with Arsenal defender
Celtic have held talks with Arsenal to re-sign their former defender Kieran Tierney before contract.
The 27-year-old left Celtic in 2019 for a reported fee of £25million but Arsenal are prepared to let him leave at the end of his contract as his career in English football has been hampered by injuries Influence.
With interest from Celtic and a number of other clubs across Europe, it is unclear whether Arsenal will send Tierney away on loan in January before making the move permanent in the summer.
But there is great fondness for Tierney in north London, with the Scotland international considered a model professional.
Tierney made 125 appearances for Arsenal over a five-year contract, including a loan spell at Real Sociedad, with his last appearance coming in December’s Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Crystal Palace.
However, he also suffered 10 injuries, including shoulder and knee injuries that required surgical repair, as well as a serious hamstring injury in June.
