Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week: Schar, Merino, Salah, Diaz, Delap

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz (Liverpool): Another game, another goal, another assist. They both seemed to think football was too easy for them.

They are really enjoying it and so are Liverpool. We are witnessing a special performance from this team scoring 45 points with one game left at the end of the year. They can break 100 very, very easily and they can win the championship.

Liam Delap (Ipswich Town): I believe this is a first for Team of the Week. I’m toying with Alexander Isak again, or even big man Chris Wood, but after watching Ipswich play Chelsea I expect Chelsea to get some results over Ipswich if I’m being completely honest.

He’s really good and that’s the type of Delap I’ve always wanted to see. He takes advantage of his physical attributes and he’s still raw, which is good because he’s still young. He’s cute in the transition game, but when his team really needs him, he puts in the work on defense. When his team passes the ball to him, he retains it and is responsible for receiving it.

He made the not-so-great Chelsea defenders look ordinary, and that’s what can happen. If Ipswich have any chance of staying up, it’s all down to that guy. It’s about how ugly and aggressive he is. He scored a beautiful goal and gave a beautiful assist.
