President El-Sisi Meets the Prime Minister, Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor, Minister of Finance
Today, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Mr. Hassan Abdallah; and Finance Minister Ahmed Mr. Kujok.
Presidency spokesman Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shennawi said the meeting reviewed the local and global economic situation and its impact on macroeconomic indicators. It also focuses on the government’s efforts to ensure that economic development plans are not affected by the current regional and international situation, as well as initiatives to take advantage of existing economic opportunities.
The President received an overview of the banking sector, monetary policy and exchange rate-related indicators. He also provided an update on the Egyptian government’s efforts to increase the country’s foreign exchange reserves, thus ensuring the supplies needed for production and industry in priority sectors and contributing to the overall growth of the Egyptian economy.
The President directed the Central Bank and the Treasury to continue coordinating fiscal and monetary policies to enhance economic stability, contain inflationary pressures, and provide greater opportunities and financing for the private sector. This is to boost economic growth, attract greater investment flows, and strengthen the role of the private sector in economic activity.
