Jarrod Bowen: West Ham captain suffers fractured foot in Liverpool defeat
West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen will be sidelined for some time after suffering a fracture in his left foot during Sunday’s Premier League match against Liverpool.
The 28-year-old England striker said he was injured in the first half but tried to continue playing.
Bowen eventually limped off and was replaced by Crissencio Somerville after 60 minutes as West Ham struggled. 0-5 defeat at home by alliance leaders.
“Unfortunately during the first half on Sunday I broke a bone in my foot,” he wrote on Instagram.
“As always, I tried to keep fighting and keep playing until my body couldn’t do it anymore.
“Injuries happen on the football pitch but I’m already looking forward to getting back out there as soon as possible. See you soon.”
