President El-Sisi Meets the Prime Minister and the Minister of Religious Endowments

Today, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with Prime Minister Dr. Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi. Minister of Religious Endowments Moustafa Madbouly Dr. Usama Azhari.

Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shenawi said the President had been briefed on the Ministry of Endowments’ multifaceted action plan. Minister Azhari outlined the ministry’s ongoing efforts to qualify and train imams, as well as upcoming missionary programs. He also worked to develop good religious awareness and renew religious discourse and its mechanisms. The minister also informed the president of the latest results of the General Assembly meeting of the “Arab Federation of Religious Funds”.

The President was also briefed on the Endowment Ministry’s initiative to revive traditional Islamic schools (Kuttab). The meeting reviewed the work on the qualification of imams, preachers and women preachers in the religious, academic, cultural and media fields, as well as the role of the “Awqaf Academy” in this regard. The Minister of Religious Endowments noted that the qualification process is conducted by leading experts in the fields of religious sciences and humanitarian, social and cultural studies. The move aims to further enhance their expertise and enhance their ability to respond to contemporary issues in a balanced and enlightened manner. The discussion also focused on the ongoing plans to upgrade Vicarage Hospital to significantly improve the quality of care provided at the hospital.

President Sisi directed that efforts should be intensified to improve the conditions of imams, preachers and religious scholars and that training and qualification programs in science and culture should be continued using the latest systems and methods. The President also ordered a thorough study of the initiative to revive traditional Islamic schools (Kuttab) to examine its feasibility, implementation and impact on the education of future generations.
