City Hall monitoring weather ahead of fireworks
City Hall said it was closely monitoring the weather forecast ahead of London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks show being sold out.

Gurpreet Chhokar, a consumer law expert at Which?, said scammers are “always looking for new ways to defraud people of their hard-earned money.”
He added: “If you think you have fallen victim to online ticket fraud, please contact your bank immediately and report it to Action Fraud or, if you live in Scotland, report it to the police.”
Separately, in developing its policing plans, the Met said management teams would be primarily responsible for crowd control and there would also be a highly visible police presence.
Reverend Nick John, who is responsible for New Year’s Eve policing operations, said London was expected to be extremely busy, particularly in the West End, and people should plan how to get home after the celebrations.
He said it was “sadly” that there had been an increase in recent years in “a small number of people trying to illegally force their way into ticketed events, putting everyone’s safety at risk”.
He added that anyone trying to enter in this way on New Year’s Eve could be arrested and face prosecution.
