A man who was hit and killed by a car on Christmas Day has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Lancashire Police said 37-year-old Kirk Marsden was injured outside The Gate pub on the corner of Moorgate Street, Blackburn, just after 16:45 GMT on Wednesday. Reports say an argument broke out.
Police said a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday night, as were a 58-year-old man of no fixed address and a 35-year-old man from Blackburn.
Marsden’s family said he was “a much loved son, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed”, adding: “Rest in peace now with your father in heaven.”
The family said: “Our hero, please spread your wings, your partner Leanne and your children love you millions.
“You are truly special, good night.”
Police said the 58-year-old man had been released on conditional bail and the other two arrested men remained in custody.
“isolated incident”
Police said Marsden, from Blackburn, was seriously injured when he was hit by a Toyota Land Cruiser.
He died at the Royal Preston Hospital in the early hours of Boxing Day.
Police recovered the vehicle from a car park on Brindle Street. Police said it had been driven from the pub to Livesey Branch Road.
Detective Inspector Bryony Midgley said the case was being treated as an “isolated incident”.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
