Southampton: Are Saints on course to become Premier League’s worst team in history?
After a hot first half of the season, the club now enters a new era under the leadership of Ivan Juric.
The Croatian arrived at Southampton optimistic, saying they were capable of doing “extraordinary things” in their relegation battle.
In Juric’s first game as coach—— West Ham United lost 0-1 – The Saints, led by striker Paul Onuachu, looked lively in attack with a more direct approach, while they were also able to limit their opponents to just two shots on goal.
But the situation was not so promising against Crystal Palace, who took the lead after a counterattack and dominated the game.
“We have players who can compete. We are competing and we have to do better in the details,” Juric told BBC’s Match of the Day after the game.
“They fight every game. We have to believe there is no other option.”
