The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Supports Diplomatic Efforts to Resolve Crisis in Sudan
The United Arab Emirates welcomes the diplomatic efforts of the brotherly Republic of Türkiye to resolve the ongoing crisis in Sudan, which is also a priority for the UAE. The UAE stressed that these efforts reflect Türkiye’s firm commitment to promoting regional peace and stability and contributing to strengthening international relations. The UAE is fully ready to cooperate and coordinate with Turkey’s efforts and all diplomatic initiatives to end the conflict in Sudan and find a comprehensive solution to the crisis.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the UAE’s firm stance on the crisis, stressing that the primary focus remains an immediate ceasefire and an urgent cessation of hostilities between Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces. troops and the Sudanese Armed Forces, while also addressing the catastrophic humanitarian crisis by providing emergency relief assistance to the brotherly people of Sudan.
The ministry stressed that the UAE is working with all parties involved, regional partners and the international community to find a peaceful solution to the crisis, working to prevent escalation, achieve a ceasefire and start an intra-Sudanese dialogue that includes: joint efforts by all political factions and warring parties Work hard to realize the aspirations of the Sudanese people for development, security and prosperity. Furthermore, the UAE stressed the importance of the warring parties respecting their commitments under the Jeddah Declaration and the mechanisms proposed by the Alliance for Life Saving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) group.
The ministry stressed that the absence of the Sudanese Armed Forces from recent peace talks – in which the UAE participated as part of the ALPS Group in Geneva, along with several countries and regional and international organizations – showed the UAE’s blatant disregard for the suffering of the Sudanese people. brotherly Sudanese people, reflects their strong unwillingness to cooperate and engage in peace talks aimed at resolving the crisis and achieving lasting peace.
