PDC World Darts Championship 2025 results: Luke Littler beats Ian White to reach fourth round

Three-time champion Michael van Gerwen also advanced to the fourth round with a 4-2 victory over 30th seed Brendan Dolan.

Northern Ireland’s Dolan won the first set with a toss, followed by Netherlands’ Van Gerwen winning the second set.

After the game started, the third seed team took a 3-1 lead and began an eight-round spin game.

He performed well in the fourth set, averaging 118.66 points, but dropped to just 84 points in the fifth set, which Dolan won.

Van Gerwen threw some wayward darts in the bottom of the set, making the mistake of missing a double again before sealing the win.

It was a game that summed up Van Gerwen’s year – moments of brilliance but also some mistakes that could have punished even the best of players as the game wore on.

He will face Sweden’s Jeffrey de Graaf or Philippines’ Paul Nebrida, both unseeded, in the fourth round.

“It was difficult, really difficult, a very difficult game,” Van Gerwen told Sky Sports.

“Everyone can see he never gives up and you have to try and punish him at the right moment but I don’t have the ability to do that.

“There’s still a lot of work to do and I know I’m capable of it. I’m looking forward to the next round and getting it going.”

In the first match of the night, No. 15 seed Chris Doby defeated No. 18 seed Josh Locke 4-2.

Northern Ireland’s Rockies led 1-0 and 2-1 before Dobby gradually improved and got into his best form as the game progressed.

He won the fourth set 3-0, but Locke missed a double-headed dart in the fifth set.

Dobie then won the sixth set with a double-double and set up a fourth-round draw with Kevin Dotz of the Netherlands or Krzysztof Ratajski of Poland.

Many predicted the match would be a close one, with the pair splitting £250 each on the PDC money list, and that was how it turned out, but Dobie’s solid scoring – he averaged 97.29 – and a 45.2 checkout rate helped him advance. .

See the afternoon meeting Joyce challenges No. 20 seed Ryan Salewhile Ricardo Pietreczko and 12th seed Nathan Aspinall also advanced.
