PDC World Darts Championship 2025 results: Damon Heta hits nine-darter in loss to Luke Woodhouse

Ninth seed Damon Heta hit nine darts but was knocked out by Englishman Luke Woodhouse in the third round of the PDC World Championship.

The Australian celebrated wildly after hitting a double to complete a perfect set – Woodhouse raised his opponent’s arm and the crowd cheered – and was on his way to winning the second set.

He is the second nine-darter in this year’s competition after the Dutchman Christian Kist achieved the feat in round two.

Kister also lost the match, with nine of the 16 players who completed nine darts at Alexandra Palace losing.

Hertha narrowly lost by nine darts in the previous round, for which he received a £60,000 prize, with sponsors donating the same amount to a charity and a charity at London’s Alexandra Palace audience.

However, Woodhouse fought back after falling behind 1-3, winning the last three sets without losing a game and advancing to the top 16.

“I have nothing to say – the crowd was fantastic,” Woodhouse told Sky Sports. “I don’t think it’s the greatest game in the world, but I managed to get through it. I’m ecstatic.

“I just want to put as much pressure on him as possible. I just want to control him as much as possible and see what happens next.”
