Irish Premiership: ‘Baffling decision’ not to send off Walsh – Declan Devine

While Walsh remained on the pitch, Blues defender Sam Roscoe and Glen captain Marcus Kane were both sent off after receiving two yellow cards each.

Devine questioned Andrews’ rationale for giving marching orders to both players.

“I don’t know if he (Andrews) sent Roscoe to equalize because that goal from Walsh was a huge turning point in the game. If he hadn’t touched him, Jenkins would have put the ball in the net, We just won the game 1-0,” Devine continued.

“I’m disappointed he sent Marcus Kane off to equalize the game because anyone could see that was going to happen the next time we committed a foul.”

Linfield boss David Healy dismissed suggestions that Walsh was lucky to only receive a yellow card and pointed to the last Big Two derby as evidence of a controversial decision that didn’t suit his side.

“When we played Glentoran in the BetMcLean Cup, James Singleton should have been sent off, so some people got some and some didn’t.”
