Premier League festive predictions: Chris Sutton v DJ & producer Eats Everything

Molineux, 17:30 GMT

I usually get some feedback on social media when I predict United will lose, but social media has been quiet since I said they would lose to Bournemouth on Sunday.

I didn’t expect the score to be 3-0 again, but the reason I picked the Cherries was because they won at Old Trafford last season and since then they have improved while United have regressed. So, is this really a surprise?

Keep playing the game and the same idea applies. Why would anyone follow Ruben Amorim’s side and back them to beat Wolves? I can’t think of any compelling reason why it should be different here.

I feel sorry for Amorim because he arrived with such excitement at the time of his appointment, but only a few weeks later he must be fully aware of the monumental task he faces to turn things around.

United wasted a fortune building this squad and, as Amorim has always said, he is still trying to find the best possible lineup. It’s a trial period for him but he also has to deal with issues like Marcus Rashford’s future. He still had a lot to deal with.

Still, it’s hard to know what the Wolves will look like. One of the positives of the win over Leicester City in Vito Pereira’s first game was the clean sheet, but you have to remember that the Foxes’ performance was very average.

So, despite Manchester United’s poor performance, I don’t expect Wolves to win this game. Instead, I think it will be a tight game with a draw written all over it.

Sutton’s prediction: 1-1

Prediction of eating everything: I was hoping our win in the derby would improve our form but that’s clearly not the case against Bournemouth. Wolves had a good win in Pereira’s first game in charge and it will be tough to play against Wolves in his first home game but of course I will support us.

I think if Rashford or Alejandro Garnacho were on the bench, one of them would come on and be hungry to do something and make an impact. 0-2

Manchester United eats everything this season: I really like Ruben Amorim and I think he’s definitely a man. Erik ten Hag was similar when he came in, ruling with an iron fist, but I think communication was his issue. Ten Witches arrived and wanted to have things his way, but that didn’t work out, but instead of sticking to his guns, he tried to make the system work around the player instead of the other way around.

This worked for a while in his first season until Casemiro’s form declined, but the team was never the same after that and Ten Hag didn’t look very convincing on the touchline. Amorim has clarified things better, and even if the results aren’t great, I do think we’ll get better.
