FPL tips and team of gameweek 18: Erling Haaland is in this week – expect Manchester City to bounce back

Mohamed Salah (captain), Liverpool, £13.5m – home to Leicester City

No words needed – permanent captain unless otherwise stated.

Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City, £9.5m – Everton home

I think everyone was expecting City to get out of their shell, find form and beat someone clean at some point in this series of horrific defeats.

So why not this week?

De Bruyne is a high-risk, high-upside rookie, and if Manchester City plays like Old Town, this game could easily win 5-0.

He has been rested every 75 minutes over the past three games.

Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth, £5.6m – Crystal Palace home

He scored one of his four shots against Manchester United and his underlying statistics remain incredible.

The Ghanaian midfielder has taken 67 shots in 16 games this season, averaging four shots per game, numbers like this which means you’ll always be calling for a return.

The home game against Crystal Palace could be a goalscoring game – so feel free to go with Semenho.

Mohammed Qudus, West Ham United, £6.2m – away at Southampton

The next two midfield choices may seem a bit knee-jerk as they both scored in the 17th, but you’ll have to take my word for it that I picked this team ahead of them. Honest!

Regardless, if you can’t afford Jarrod Bowen, or you just want to be different, Kudus is the perfect option for the Hammers offense.

The Ghanaian is only slightly behind Bowen in all attacking statistics this season – 43 shots to 36 and expected goals (xG) of 4.02 to 3.56.

The Saints, despite losing 0-0 to Fulham last time out, are still a target team for forward players.

Ismaila Sarr, Crystal Palace, £5.7m – away to Bournemouth

With Eberechi Eze likely to be sidelined again, Sarr has the chance to become a central figure in the Crystal Palace side and this game could turn into a thriller.

The Senegalese winger has returned four times in the past two games and seven times in just 10 starts this season.

Sarr has a very tempting run of games until early March and he provides a good budget option in midfield.
