David Coote: Referee will not appeal against PGMOL sacking
Former Premier League official David Coote will not appeal against his sacking by refereeing body PGMOL.
Kurt, 42, was fired earlier this month PGMOL (Professional Match Officials Limited) conducted a “thorough investigation” into his conduct.
He has the right to appeal, but sources told BBC Sport the official has decided not to do so.
BBC Sport has contacted Coote for comment.
Kurt is Suspended by PGMOL On November 11, a video purportedly showing him making derogatory comments about Liverpool and the club’s former manager Jurgen Klopp was circulated on social media, pending a full investigation.
Further investigations were launched two days after The Sun published photos it said were taken during this summer’s European Championships, claiming they appeared to show Coote sniffing white powder through rolled-up US banknotes.
Images and videos have not been independently verified by the BBC.
PGMOL said Coote’s actions made his position “untenable”.
The organization will continue to provide support for Coote and has previously said it is “committed to his welfare”.
Coote has also been investigated by the Football Association and UEFA for his actions.
