Marcus Rashford: Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim questions ‘choices’ of people surrounding forward
Rashford, who came through Manchester United’s youth ranks, has played 426 games for the club and scored 138 goals since his debut in 2016.
However, despite scoring 30 goals in all competitions in 2022-23, he has struggled in three of the last four seasons and has been criticized for a number of poor performances during that period. It was criticized by experts and fans.
Amorim said he could “separate” the decisions of those advising Rashford from his relationship with the player.
“At the moment I’m focused on improving Marcus,” he added.
“We need someone as talented as Marcus. I forget about interviews now and look at what I saw on the pitch.”
Regarding Rashford’s future, the Portuguese boss said that he and the club “will deal with this issue when the time comes”.
United’s heavy defeat at the hands of the Cherries means they go into Christmas in just 13th place in the Premier League.
It will be their lowest position in the table since 1986, when they finished 15th just over two months after Sir Alex Ferguson took charge.
Amorim will face Wolves at Molineux on December 26 before hosting Newcastle on December 30.
