Manchester United: ‘Everything is so hard’ – Ruben Amorim must find answers
Amorim is not shirking responsibility.
“The responsibility is on me, not Carlos,” he said.
“We are a team in good and bad moments. We have our own way of doing things. We are working on it and we will improve it. But we don’t lose because of set pieces. We lose because of We created more chances but didn’t score.”
In an interview with Match of the Day, Martinez was more straightforward.
“We are very angry about this situation,” the Argentinian defender said. “We have to work on set pieces especially.
“I have a lot of confidence in this team and the staff. If they hadn’t scored the first goal from a set piece it would have been a completely different game.”
Amorim is held back by a lack of quality.
The Portuguese trusted Tyrell Malacia at left-wing back but replaced the Dutchman at half-time because he passed the ball too cheaply on a number of occasions and didn’t really provide Any help.
Diogo Dalot changed sides, but his one-goal threat was unconvincing. In a three-man defence, Nussel Mazraoui moved from his position to left wing-back but was drawn into a reckless tackle from Justin Kluivert, which allowed the striker to convert Burj from the penalty spot. Enmouth’s lead doubled.
Further forward, only captain Bruno Fernandes poses a threat to Bournemouth’s goal, with Marcus Rashford missing a third consecutive game despite watching the regrettable incident at Old Trafford occurrence.
Asked whether the England striker would be available for the Boxing Day game against Wolves, Amorim said: “It depends, we’ll see.”
