FPL assistant manager chip: When to play it and which manager has best games?
In addition to making sure you have some spare cash, there are three key things to consider when planning your chips.
Play with other chips
First, while this chip is active, you cannot play with any other chips. So think about when you might want to use Triple Captain, and make sure you have a rough plan for using wildcards.
It might be a good plan to run wildcards in the weeks before playing Assistant Manager chips.
Transfer to manager
Secondly, there is no transfer fee for playing chips, but you can change the assistant coach within three weeks, which requires a transfer fee just like buying a player.
So if you’re willing and go for maximum upside with juicy fixtures, this is your chance to get cute.
Top management has less room for advancement
Because of table stakes, choosing the coach of a championship-chasing team is not necessarily the best.
Mikel Arteta, Arne Slott and Enzo Maresca’s best three weeks this season have been 32 points or less. But Bournemouth’s Andoni Illaura leads the way with 47 points overall thanks to wins over Arsenal and Manchester City.
Of course, predicting these wins is a difficult thing!
So do you play it safe or go for the glory?
