Wales aiming for top spot in World Cup qualifying – Kieffer Moore

Moore’s confidence was not misplaced as he secured promotion back to the First Division in the National League, with Bellamy unbeaten in his first six games in charge.

Additionally, winning Group B4 would also mean Wales would all but guarantee themselves at least a play-off spot for the 2026 World Cup, although Moore said Wales would not rely on that potential safety net.

“I think you don’t want to use it that way because if you know there’s a way out, then you’re not really applying yourself the way you’re supposed to,” he said.

“Obviously, it’s good that we can do that, but that shouldn’t be in our minds, we should be thinking about qualifying immediately and finishing first in the group.”

Wales will face Kazakhstan at home on March 22 and their group qualifier will be against North Macedonia, also in Cardiff, on November 18.

Wales will travel to Belgium on June 9 and play the return leg at home on October 13.

Moore speaks after two-goal performance Sheffield United beat former club Cardiff City The result kept the Blades top of the Championship on Saturday, while the Bluebirds dropped back into the relegation zone.

“I had a great time here, I loved playing here and I scored a lot of goals here,” Moore added.

“I think it’s definitely not a good thing for the home fans when I come back here and still score goals, but I loved my time here.”
