Max George from The Wanted has pacemaker fitted for heart condition
Getty ImagesMax George, a member of boy band The Wanted, has revealed he has been fitted with a pacemaker just days after revealing he had a heart condition and needed surgery.
He posted a photo of the scar on Instagram, showing the location of a small battery-powered device that keeps the heart beating normally.
George said surgeons placed the pacemaker beneath a “special tattoo” that read “04/08/1998,” referring to the birthday of his late bandmate Tom Parker.
Previously, the 36-year-old said he was diagnosed with “a 2:1 blockage in my heart,” which Slowed heartbeat or abnormal rhythm Because there is a problem with the electrical pulse.

The singer said the surgery took about two and a half hours.
“The main problem was that some of my veins collapsed where the wires were supposed to go… but the NHS surgeons and nurses were incredible. I owe everything to them.”
He said the pacemaker’s location beneath his Tom Parker tribute tattoo gave him “confidence that it was being taken care of”.
George said he was undergoing more tests due to inflamed lymph nodes in his lungs, but had been hoping he would be home for Christmas.
He continued: “It’s time to take a break and approach life with energy again.
“Thank you everyone for your support. It means a lot to me and my family.”

George rose to fame in the early 2010s with bandmates Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker.
The Wanted announced their disbandment in 2014, and in 2022, George and Kaneswaran relaunched as a duo.
George also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, where he met his co-star actress Maisie Smith for the first time.
