Southampton close to appointing Ivan Juric as new manager
Southampton is about to appoint Ivan Juric as head coach on an 18-month contract.
The Croatian will replace Russell Martin, who is fired by saints On Sunday, they suffered a 0-5 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.
Juric, 49, most recently Roma head coach, fired him in November After just 12 games in charge.
The Southampton job will mark Juric’s first managerial role outside of Italy.
His contract is said to include a summer break clause.
Club sources say Juric is one of two options to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl when Nathan Jones is appointed in November 2022.
The club are said to be looking for a manager who can bring some stability and discipline to the team after the disastrous defeat to Tottenham.
Juric is unlikely to feature against Fulham on Sunday (14:00 GMT).
Southampton are bottom of the Premier League table, nine points from safety, with just one win so far this season.
