Operation Recover All Loot: Ghana’s President-elect Targets Corruption with Taskforce

Ghana’s president-elect John Dramani Mahama has formed a preparatory group ahead of his inauguration to advance his anti-corruption initiative Operation All Loot (ORAL). Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced the move on December 18, 2024. The task force is reportedly to collect evidence in corruption cases and lay the foundation for the recovery of stolen state resources. The formation of the team reflects Mahama’s commitment to delivering on key campaign promises to prioritize accountability and transparency. The team, which includes former Auditor General Daniel Domelevo and lawyer Martin Kpeb, stressed a strong and comprehensive approach to fighting corruption. Mahama’s agenda includes tough penalties for public sector mismanagement and a reduction in wasteful spending. By launching ORAL during the transition period, he signaled a strong commitment to restoring trust in Ghana’s institutions and ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds.
