“There’s always going to be issues and it’s ultimately still a human decision,” added Rodgers, who confirmed winger James Forrest will be out for six weeks and right-back Alistair Johnston is likely to miss Sunday’s clash Dundee United game.
“Everyone makes mistakes and you can see from the events why they made the decisions they did.
“Willie is trying to be transparent, which is a good thing because people have been saying for years that that’s not the case. He’s trying to be open and honest. Hopefully that helps the employees.”

Rodgers hopes to agree a new deal with left-back Greg Taylor but admitted a number of players could leave in January and centre-back Stephen Welsh “could be one of them”.
