Jack van Poortvliet: Leicester Tigers’ England scrum-half signs new contract
Van Pultfleet made 19 appearances in the league when Tigers won the Premiership in 2022, but was left out of the grand final win over Saracens.
Although he missed the decider, he went on to make his international debut for England a month later.
He has made 16 appearances for his country, most recently against South Africa and Japan in November.
Van Pultfleet missed last year’s World Cup with an ankle injury and has not featured for England in more than a year.
Tigers head coach Michael Cheika described the playmaker as “a good player and a good person.”
“He knows what it means to play for Leicester and win,” Cheika continued.
“He has reached international level and I believe there is still a lot of room for improvement in his game.”
Van Pultfleet is the fifth Tigers player to extend his contract with the club this week, following England internationals Ollie Hassell-Collins, Ollie Chesson, Tongan center Solomon Kata and Scotland player Will Al Hurd.
