IRS whistleblowers jab at Hunter Biden pardon in lawsuit filing against his lawyer Abbe Lowell
Two IRS whistleblower Who expressed concern about Hunter Biden investigation, satirized his presidential pardon while firing back at a lawyer they believed had defamed them.
“The plaintiffs are not seeking a pardon because they committed no crime. They simply seek to restore their reputations,” attorneys Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, IRS agents, wrote.
The two sued Biden attorney Abe Lowell in September, claiming Lowell committed defamation by accusing them of leaking confidential information related to the investigation of the president’s son.
Lowell responded last month, saying Shapley and Ziegler were “dissatisfied” with the motion to dismiss the lawsuit. He accused them of commenting on the strength of the case before charges were filed.
Lowell also argued that their lawsuit focused on legal opinion statements.
He did not respond to an email requesting comment.
Lowell’s clients over the years have included top figures from both major parties, including Republicans Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, as well as former Democratic senators Bob Menendez and John Edwards.

Lawyers for Shapley and Ziegler sought to distinguish their clients from Hunter Biden, calling the former IRS investigator a “long-time public servant who was not looking for any favors.”
“They do not need a pardon because they never violated the law,” their attorneys wrote.
