Carabao Cup semi-final draw: Holders Liverpool draw Tottenham while Arsenal face Newcastle
Defending champions Liverpool face Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, while Arsenal will face Newcastle.
Premier League leaders Liverpool, who have won the cup a record 10 times, will play Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before returning to Anfield.
Arsenal will play Newcastle in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium and the second leg at St James’ Park.
The draw also sets the stage for the possibility of a north London derby in the final.
Spurs and Arsenal have never met in a major domestic final but have met four times before in the Carabao Cup semi-finals in 1968, 1987, 2007 and 2008.
The first leg of the semi-finals will be played in the week starting on January 6, 2025, and the second leg will be played in the week starting on February 3.
Wembley Stadium will host the final on March 16.
