Larne FC: ‘Not overly disruptive’ – head coach Gary Haveron on club reshuffle
Hafron said it was a “huge honour” to become head coach of his hometown club after several years as Lynch’s backroom staff.
“Personally, I’ve always had that relationship with the players. I was with the first team for almost five years, although the dynamic has changed slightly now because I was the one who got them out of the team.
“I’m very familiar with the club and how it’s run. I think I’ve been helping Nathan get integrated into the club over the last period of time but there hasn’t been any real change in terms of coaching on the ground.
“Losing Tiernan and Seamus in Europe is not ideal, but football is changing all the time and you have to go with the changes and adapt. We are ready to carry on as usual and be as professional as we are.” Probably. . “
Hafron is confident that together he, Rooney and the club’s coaching staff can secure a bright future for the East Antrim club.
“Nathan’s arrival has had a very good impact on the team because he is a very lively character and he has a big personality.
“It’s a team effort, a collective thing and it always has been that way. He comes here as director of football and he’s going to play that role but he’s also brilliant on the grass so why would you overlook him on the grass? What about the fact that it performed well?”
“It’s just about understanding who’s picking the team and who’s keeping the team off, and that’s my responsibility so we can represent this town as well as we can.”
