riverhead, new york – Accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Scheuermann Charged with a seventh murder.
Scheuermann is accused of killing Valerie Mack, a 24-year-old girl from New Jersey who had been working as an escort in the Philadelphia area in 2000. Part of her remains were discovered in 2000 in Manorville, Long Island, and more were discovered more than a decade later at Gilgo Beach.
Scheuermann spoke in court Tuesday.
“Your honor, I am not guilty of any of these charges,” he told the judge.

Superseding indictment reveals new details
According to the superseding indictment, hair found near Mack’s wrists and inside a trash bag was linked to Scheuermann’s wife, Asa Ellerup, and their daughter, but excluded 99.65 percent of the North American population. They have not been accused of any wrongdoing in the case, and Hoylman’s daughter was very young when Mack was killed.
The indictment also disclosed that sexual torture pornographic images found on Rex Scheuermann’s electronic devices showed bindings similar to the rope ligatures found on Mack’s remains.
The indictment says Scheuermann referred to the dump as “Mill Road” in planning documents. Mack’s body was found near Manorville Mill Road.
The indictment alleges similar cutting tools were used to dismember Mack and another victim, Jessica Taylor. The indictment also claims Mack’s tattoos were removed. The tattoo removal was also allegedly included in a document in Heuermann’s possession that authorities described as a blueprint for how to get away with murder, including a list of things to do before, during and after the killing.
The indictment also revealed that they found numerous magazines and articles about serial killer cases in Scheuermann’s office.
Hoylmann’s charges so far
Scheuermann, 61, previously Pleals not guilty to murder charges in deaths of six women Between 1993 and 2011. During this time, 11 bodies were found around Gilgo Beach, and investigators believe Scheuermann may have been involved in other killings. The Suffolk County District Attorney said charges may be filed in the future.
The bodies of the four victims were disposed of near Gilgo Beach. Two others were murdered as early as 2003 and 1993. All of them had been involved in sex work.
Prosecutors allege Scheuermann was linked to the murders through DNA, burner phone data, truck descriptions, Internet searches and what they said was a blueprint for how to get away with it.
The women he is accused of killing so far include Amber Lynn Costello, Megan Waterman, Melissa Barthelemy, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Sandra Costilla, Taylor, and now Mike.
Lawyers debate DNA and amount of evidence
