Spurs accepted the verdict but Appeal against seriousness of suspension.
However, the appeal was dismissed after a hearing and Bentancur will miss the Carabao Cup tie against Manchester United and the Premier League tie against Liverpool.
The former Juventus midfielder was able to play in the Europa League during the ban, which only applies to domestic competitions.
Anti-racism groups Kick It Out and the Frank Soo Foundation said they had received more reports about Tottenham’s decision to appeal Bentancur’s ban than the original incident itself.
In a joint statement, the groups said they wanted Spurs to “reflect on their decision” as the incident had “upset many fans”.
