Euro 2025: Wales happy to be written off after drawing England, Netherlands and France
Wales, the lowest-placed team in the draw, will face the Netherlands in Lucerne before taking on France – who have suffered two defeats in 2023 World Cup qualifying – in St Gallen.
But many of the headlines will revolve around the draw against England, whom Wales have never beaten.
The two teams last met during the 2019 World Cup qualifiers when Jayne Ludlow’s side faced the Lionesses at Southampton but suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Rodney Pallard Stadium. Heartbreak.
However, Wilkinson said she was not worried about the hype surrounding the game, which will be Wales’ final game in the group
“I think it’s going to be outside noise,” she said. “A derby is a one-off game, not a championship game.
“Obviously it means a lot to the fans and we can’t pretend it isn’t but our three opponents are all top-class opponents and they will give us our biggest challenge.
“It’s not a more special game than the others, it’s just another top opponent that we have to give our all.”
