Christmas Tree Light Controllers Sold at Major Retailers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
Manufacturing company Mr. Christmas has recalled more than 40,000 wireless Christmas tree light controllers after determining a fire hazard.
The controllers come in three different styles and are available nationwide at Walmart, Target and Cracker Barrel, according to a release from the company. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Two devices sold by Walmart and Cracker Barrel have “Christmas Light Controller” printed on the front, while one sold by Target has “Tree Light Switch” printed on it. They will cost between $25 and $40, according to the release. Photos of the recalled equipment are below.
So far, 10 reports of product overheating and 1 report of fire have been received, but there have been no casualties. If you own one of these devices, you should stop using it and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
