Rapper cleared of raping fan after gig
Grammy-nominated rapper Slowthai has been cleared of raping a fan after a show.
The 29-year-old, whose real name is Tyron Frampton, is accused of raping the woman after a performance at Oxford Bullingdon in September 2021.
Following a trial at Oxford Crown Court, he and co-accused Alex Blake-Walker were found not guilty of three counts of joint rape.
Mr Black-Walker was also cleared of one count of sexual assault.
Mr Frampton burst into tears in the dock and members of the gallery sobbed as the not guilty verdict was read.
The jury of eight men and four women reached a majority not guilty verdict after more than 10 hours of deliberation.
The trial heard that a group of women Frampton met before a gig in Cowley Road, Oxford, invited the rapper and his friends to a party at one of their houses.
The prosecution alleges that Mr Black-Walker raped a woman at the encouragement of Mr Frampton, who then allegedly raped the second complainant twice.
Mr. Frampton Consent to have sex It was a matter between him and the second complainant but maintained that it was consensual.
Giving evidence during the trial, he said: “I know she consented and there was no question about it.”
Slotay, of Willingborough Road, Northampton, was supported throughout the trial at Oxford Crown Court by his wife, pop star Anne-Marie.
