2 killed, suspect dead in school shooting in Madison, Wisconsin, police say
CHICAGO (CBS) — Police are responding to a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday.
Just before 11 a.m., Madison police reported multiple injuries at the school at 4901 East Buckeye Road. There was a heavy police presence at the school and multiple emergency vehicles were parked in the parking lot.
At a media conference, police confirmed that the teenage gunman was found dead at the scene.
Seven people were taken to local hospitals, where two died, police said.
Police said the scene remains active and investigations are ongoing.
Officers from across the county and state assisted in the response.
Residents have been asked to avoid the area and road closures are in place along 4900 Buckeye Road.
according to WISC, Parents and students reunited at the SSM Health Building near the intersection of East Seven Leaf Road and Stoughton Road.
