OpenAI Kicks Off a New Era With Sora AI Videos
This is the beginning of a new era for artificial intelligence company OpenAI. Thanks to this week’s launch of ChatGPT users can now create AI-generated videos SoraOpenAI’s video model.
The company has been developing a new version of the model, called the Sora Turbo, for months and is now rolling the product out of research preview and into the public. Sora is now available in the US, but not yet in Europe or the UK.
With Sora, ChatGPT users can create video clips entirely using generative AI. You can start by entering the usual text prompts, but you can also upload images and videos to guide the model. How does Sora Turbo work?
As with most AI image and video tools, you can enter a text prompt and the program will create a short clip based on the idea you describe. With Sora, you can also follow prompts to upload photos and other videos as reference material. You can also easily select the aspect ratio, resolution and duration of your video, as well as the number of variations you want the program to generate.
Results are 5 to 20 seconds long and resolutions range from 480 to 1080p. There are additional post-editing features such as storyboarding, remixing, and looping for more fine-tuning. If your account is public, all of your text-based videos are eligible to be shared on Sora’s Community Discovery page.
