Lauren Price: ‘I want to bring big-time boxing back to Wales’
Price has competed once before in Wales, when she defeated Jessica McCaskill in May 2024 to become world champion for the first time.
Although her next fight with Jonas will likely take place outside of Wales, the Istria Minaj boxer has made it clear she wants to face her fellow Brit next.
“For the British fans, I would love to fight Tash (Natasha Jonas),” Price continued.
“This is one hell of a fight for British fans and the boxing community in general.
“In this professional fight, you have to call the shots. If you’re the world champion and you have the title, you should fight anybody.
“I still have a few years, but next year I want to chase the belt. I want to be the undisputed world champion.”
Speaking to BBC Radio 5Live following Jonas’ win on Saturday night, Price was quick to give her predictions for the proposed contest.
“I was in my prime and she was coming to the end of her career,” Price said.
“I respect that, but I believe I’m going to win this fight.
“If it were me, we would be fighting here tonight.
“But she (Jonas) doesn’t want to fight, I understand.”
