Fury vs Usyk 2: Dave Allen ready for test with British heavyweight rival Johnny Fisher test

“I don’t want to live a life of regrets,” Dave Allen said. “I want to know how good I am.”

Twelve years since his professional debut in December 2012, the 32-year-old heavyweight is taking on one of his toughest challenges yet against highly-rated British star Johnny Fisher. Johnny Fisher).

Allen’s future is difficult to predict after a tough loss to Olympic bronze medalist Fraser Clark in September 2023.

But a win over Fisher (who has won all 12) on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch with Tyson Fury on Dec. 21 in Saudi Arabia match) could revive the Yorkshireman’s career once again.

This is not the first time.

Allen has lost to top contenders such as Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz, but Lucas Brown was distraught; He briefly held the WBA regular title before failing a drug test.

“I don’t mind saying that I didn’t do well at the top level,” he told BBC Sport. “I beat a former champion (at Brown), but he was past his best, so I never knew how good I was.

“With Fisher, I thought the best I could do was beat this guy because he was just a baby.”

Allen, who competed in 31 fights, winning 23 and losing six, revealed what motivates him to keep going after starting his career with a six-round points win over Rolandas Cesna.

“It comes down to no regrets,” he added. “People talk about money and everything else, but my life is good, I’m healthy, I don’t need boxing, I can do other things.

“My old man is 66 years old, he was a boxer and I know he is full of regrets.

“I don’t want to do that. I’d rather go and if I get beat, I know I’m not good enough.”
