Two men have been arrested after a “crash” at a Christmas funfair in Birmingham city centre.

West Midlands Police said the two men, aged 55 and 21, were arrested at the scene on Thursday night on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and obstructing law enforcement.

They remain in custody.

Louise Brown was riding the 55m-high City Starflyer ride when she fell to the ground, injuring herself and several others.

“It’s hard to imagine that one minute you’re innocently having fun and then screaming in a scared way because you could lose your life,” she said.

“This will never happen again – we were all shocked and all I could think about was ‘what if my kids were in the car’.”
