Pedro Martinez Losa: Scotland women head coach role departs after Euro 2025 qualifying failure
Pedro Martinez Lothar is to step down as Scotland women’s head coach after the team failed to qualify for Euro 2025.
The Spanish team lost to the play-off opponent Finland this month with a total score of 0-2, and also missed the 2023 World Cup through the play-offs.
Martinez Lothar, 48, was offered a new contract by the Scottish Football Association that would allow him to participate in the 2027 World Cup, but the Scottish Football Association has decided to end his term early.
The recruitment process to find a new head coach is ongoing, with National League games scheduled for February.
