UFC: Welshman Jack Shore announces retirement from MMA
Shore last fought Youssef Zalal in November, submitting in the second round.
“Throughout my 20s, fighting and training were my life and sole focus, however, the past few weeks/months have shown that this is no longer the case,” he added.
“When I had my mental check-ups, I always promised myself that I would retire from the sport, rather than the sport retiring me. After a lifetime in the sport, injuries have caught up with me.
“I left with my mental (health) under control, good health, financial stability and well-prepared to move into the future.”
In his lengthy post, Shore thanked the UFC, his family, friends, coaches and gym.
“What a journey,” he added. “This time, I can finally say that I am proud of what I have achieved and that I have always given it my best shot.
“Hopefully when people think of Welsh MMA they always think of Tank Coast. Much love to you all. Come on.”
