Lauren Price relishing chance of ‘massive fight’ versus Natasha Jonas
“It’s a massive fight, a massive fight for the British public. If it were me I would fight her right now, but the politics of boxing and other things (means that’s not possible) of).
“We all need to win and then we can look forward to that fight. It’s a fight I’ve wanted for a long time and a fight I believe I’ll win.”
Price said she feels she is the woman to beat in the welterweight division and sees Jonas as a stepping stone in her plans to dominate the division.
“I have a lot of respect for Tash and everything she’s done for boxing, but when I became an Olympic champion I wanted to move on quickly – now that I’ve got three belts,” Price said.
“I want other belts and I want to be undisputed. This is a business and if she gets the title I want, then I want that fight.
“I believe in myself and that’s the most important thing you need in this fight. I know how good I am and I still have a lot to do. I’ve played seven fights and won every round.
“I box for a living, I box for a living, that’s how I train. I check the boxes, I get wins and results. I believe in myself and my ability to beat Tash.”
